To offer 2 extended summer institutes to train teachers and librarians to develop bilingual/bicultural elementary humanities curricula using library resources. Institutes will serve Spanish-speaking populations in the East and Southwest (Temple University will host the 1st Texas Women's University the 2nd). Lecturers, discussions, and activities will cover issues in bilingual education (for librarians), principles of librarianship (for teachers). Hispanic culture, research for selecting materials, and acquisitions problems.
