This project is a manuscript that surveys Thomas Reid's philosophy of mind. There are no existing monographs on this subject. I completed my dissertation on Thomas Reid and Immanuel Kant's theories of perception in 2002, and have since published an article on Thomas Reid's direct realism and completed two other articles on Thomas Reid's philosophy of mind. Thus, I have the background required to undertake the project. The manuscript will cover: whether Reid has a science of mind; perception; sensation; consciousness; memory; conception; imagination; abstraction and agency.
