"Augustine's First Dialogues" is a four-volume edition of Augustine of Hippo's four earliest extant works ("Against the Academics," "On the Happy Life," "On Order," and "The Soliloquies"). Each volume will consist of an original translation, critical annotation, and an extensive interpretive essay or commentary. The project is the first of its kind and promises to be of lasting value in the fields of philosophy, classical studies, ancient literature, history of religion, and theology.
