Implementation of a website, an oral history project, and public programs about individuals and families of mixed racial, ethnic, and cultural heritage and the place of "cultural hybridity" in United States history.

Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) seeks $429,622 (total project budget $811,602) for "Crossing Borders, Bridging Generations," a project that explores concepts of race, ethnicity, and identity, and provides historical context for understanding mixed heritage and cultural hybridity in the United States today. A Bridging Cultures project, CBBG comprises an interpretive website, an oral history project and online oral history collection, a public programming series, and reading and discussion groups.
