SOLINET proposes to preserve the intellectual content of 5,513 brittle volumes documenting the history and culture of the American South. 17 libraries have selected titles from important humanities collections focused on various aspects of the South, including religion, African-American studies, history of science and technology, history of higher education, and state/regional history and culture. Pre-filming preparation, bibliographic control, microfilming, and post-filming quality control for all libraries will be coordinated through the central Microfilm Service at SOLINET. Microfilmed volumes will be available at project libraries for use, interlibrary loan, or reproduction as copyright permits. |
