Upholding its commitment to the preservation and care of collections, the Sonoma County Museum is requesting support for a collections preservation assessment of the Museum's collection, with an emphasis on three-dimensional objects. The Museum will hire an independent collections management and conservation consultant to conduct a general preservation assessment including evaluation of current policies, practices, and conditions affecting the care and preservation of collections. Additionally the consultant will develop a plan for improving collections storage and recommend future action. The consultant will also conduct a workshop on preservation and storage issues for Museum staff. Nearby organizations will be invited to participate. |
