Furniture and decorative arts typical of a Quaker family are displayed in the National Historic Landmark house museum. Archaeological artifacts, books, manuscripts, photographs and maps dating from the 17th century to the present document the history and development of the garden.
Bartram's Garden requests a Preservation Assistance Grant of $6,000 to develop and implement a Vulnerability Assessment and Emergency Preparedness Plan for the site. The plan would evaluate the risk for manmade and natural emergencies, detail preventative measures, ways to minimize damage in the case of an incident, and provide a strategy to deal with an incident should it happen. The Garden will partner with a consultant from the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) in Philadelphia. The planning process will consist of a site visit, meetings, and telephone conversations. CCAHA will provide guidance, assessment tools, and technical information to assist in the completion of this custom Vulnerability Assessment, which will help the creation of an Emergency Preparedness Plan. |
