The purchase of storage furniture for more than 3,800 paintings and objects from the Allen Memorial Art Museum's collection of world art.

The Allen Memorial Art Museum (AMAM) of Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio seeks to 1) purchase and install new, state-of-the art storage furniture (emission-free, powder-coated, compact storage screen for paintings, and museum-standard storage cabinets for three-dimensional objects) in three storage spaces; and 2) support the moving, reorganizing and re-housing within these storage spaces of 743 paintings and 3,115 three-dimensional objects in the permanent collection. Founded in 1917, the AMAM is one of the finest college or university art museums in the U.S., with an important collection of almost 12,000 works that support humanities teaching at Oberlin College in numerous disciplines, including African American studies, anthropology, art history, classics, foreign languages, history, music history, religion, and studio art. The project will increase the AMAM's storage capacity and make artworks more readily available for study by faculty, students, researchers, and the public.
