Completion of volume 7 and initial work on volume 8 of a 17-volume selective edition of the papers of Andrew Jackson.

The Papers of Andrew Jackson is a scholarly editing project to collect and make available the extant literary record of the seventh president. The project has conducted an exhaustive worldwide search for documents and produced a 39-reel microfilm and comprehensive hardbound Guide and Index. It is now publishing a seventeen-volume selective printed edition. Volume VI (1825-1828), published in 2002, brings the series to its most important phase, the eight volumes covering Jackson's presidential years. Including many new documents, these volumes will significantly influence scholarship on a broad range of subjects. NEH funding will support completion of Volume VII (1829) and commencement of Volume VIII (1830).
