Georgia Historical Society Endowment Campaign

Endowment for a technical services librarian, humanities programming, and operating expenses.

Due to the recent privatization of our institutition's library and archives and a consequent reduction in state funding, the GHS has launched a campaign to build its endowment. This campaign is designed to off-set the loss of state government funds and to make the organization self-sufficient, therby ensuring the continuation and growth of our extensive humanities programming and services to the people of Georgia. As a key part of the campaign, the Society is requesting a Challenge Grant from The National Endowment for the Humanities which will be used to leverage funds from private foundations and individuals, to sustain the Society's current operations, lay a platform for a capital campaign, and fund a technical services librarian position.
