Center for the Humanities at Spokane Community College
Endowment for staff salaries, faculty stipends, and programming in a humanities center, and for library acquisitions.
With this Challenge Grant, Spokane Community College (SCC) will strengthen and improve humanities by 1) strengthening and endowing the Center for the Humanities to provide a focus for a now fragmented discipline; and 2) building library resources in the humanities to support excellence in teaching and learning. SCC will strengthen the Center for the Humanities within the library that will serve as a focus both for curricular change and increasing the public presence of the humanities on the college campus and in the community.
