Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives at Queensborough Community College
Endowment and spend-down fund for faculty salaries, honoraria, travel, materials, and archival acquisitions for year-long colloquia at the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives.
NEH Challenge Grant funding will support year-long interdisciplinary colloquia at the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives, on the campus of Queensborough Community College. Each year, themes of Holocaust and genocide studies will be proposed by faculty and one will be selected by a committee. Each year’s events will engage faculty, students and community members in scholarship and teaching about the selected area of study utilizing disciplinary frameworks driven by topic rather than by singular method or tradition. Projected areas of study include philosophical, historiographical or cultural problems in the conceptualization of genocide and methodologies for comparative study of the Holocaust and other recent genocides.
