A materials development project to create a content-rich interactive website for students in grades 7-12 on the history and peoples of the American Southwest.

Southwest Crossroads: Cultures and Histories of the American Southwest is an interactive on-line learning matrix of original written, audio, and visual materials, for grades 7-12 teachers and students. It allows learners to explore how the Southwest’s peoples dealt with cultural differences and to learn from their experiences. Using empirical resources and illuminated by leading scholars and educators, Southwest Crossroads empowers every student to examine distinctive elements of his or her past in an integrated form. In so doing, students identify significant patterns, relationships, themes, beliefs, and turning points to strengthen their understanding of the complexities of human experience.
