Exploring Landmark Supreme Court Cases: A Document Based Questions Approach

The development of a resource book and a website for high school teachers and students on important Supreme Court cases primarily dealing with the interpretation of the Bill of Rights.

We propose to develop the "Exploring Landmark Supreme Court Cases: A Document-Based Questions Approach" teacher resource book and website guide to help high school students comprehend key constitutional issues in 19 landmark Supreme Court cases. Each case will provide educational resources that include a brief summary of the case within its historial context, as well as excerpts from case briefs, oral arguments, the relevant sections of the Constitution, and the majority, concurring, and dissenting opinions. A series of questions will help students interpret and analyze the intellectual arguments. The website component will add interactiveness and flexibility to the resource book by incorporating a multimedia component.
