A Critical Edition of the 1921 African-American Musical Shuffle Along
I am proposing a critical edition of the complete musical score, including all the orchestra parts, the script, and a description of the dances in the landmark Broadway musical Shuffle Along (1921). I have a contract in hand for publication as a volume in the series Music in the United States of America (MUSA), a project subvened by the American Musicological Society, in collaboration with A-R Editions, Inc. No previous edition of this material exists.
