The project will interpret lived human experience to show how shared Islamic doctrinal messages are received in variable ways. The method for this project is "person-centered" ethnography. During the grant term (Summer, 2004), I plan to begin extensive fieldwork among Cham communities. Highlighting education, the research conclusions will show how the sociality of recovery is a principal mode of religious revitalization.
