Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War Panel Exhibition

Implementation of a traveling panel exhibition about how Abraham Lincoln used constitutional tools to preserve the union and end slavery, which will tour 25 public libraries in collaboration with the American Library Association.

The National Constitution Center (NCC), in collaboration with the American Library Association (ALA), proposes to develop a traveling panel exhibition, Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War for public libraries throughout the country. This panel exhibition will be based on the content of an original NCC-developed interactive exhibit of the same name and will be formatted to accommodate the space restriction of libraries. The Lincoln panel exhibit will travel to 25 libraries in 2009 and 2010, and will serve to commemorate the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial by examining the historical context in which Lincoln served as President. The exhibit interprets the Civil War as a constitutional crisis, thereby casting Lincoln?s actions in a fresh and dramatic light.
