Implementation of a six-part series of film viewing and discussion programs and website about the history and interpretation of jazz at 50 venues throughout the U.S.

National Video Resources (NVR) is applying for an NEH grant to implement Jazz Legacy: Americas Art Form, a six part public program of lectures, documentary film screenings, presentations, readings and discussions on the history of jazz music. Jazz music is an art form that evolved in the 20th century to occupy a unique place in American cultural history. The history of Jazz is deeply connected to the history, the culture and the geography of the United States. Jazz Legacy will be offered initially to audiences at 50 public venues across the country in partnership with public libraries. NVR’s partners are the American Library Association (ALA) and Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC).
