Hope Mining Collection, which includes company records, blueprints, maps, and artifacts. The Mt. Hope Mines were one of the earliest mining operations in Colonial America and worked almost continuously from 1710 until 1978.
This project will engage a consultant, Mr. Chad Leinaweaver, to develop a detailed plan for improving storage and rehousing the Mt. Hope Mine Collection within its new storage location. The plan will include recommendations for supplies needed to rehouse the paper documents and artifact collection, specific storage furnishings and plans for their layout in the storage area; it will allow the Morris County Park Commission's Historic Sites Division to maximize space use within the available budget. The newly reorganized space will ameliorate the currently inadequate storage conditions and expand available space to enable future additions to the collections. |
