Funding supports the purchase of environmental monitoring equipment and hiring a preservation consultant to train staff in its use. The Oglebay Institute includes the Mansion Museum and the Glass Museum. Their decorative arts collections consist of furniture, paintings, and glass and pottery objects. They are displayed throughout the period-style rooms and are used in educational and public programming on the history and culture of West Virginia.

The Museums of Oglebay Institute are requesting funds for the purchase of environmental monitoring equipment and software in fulfillment of CAP Report recommendations identified as high priorities. The project will result in enabling the staff to better record and analyze data, and make decisions regarding the care of the collections. The grant will also provide training in the use of the software and equipment.
