The equivalent of one twelve-month and one six-month fellowship a year for three years.

The project is to support postdoctoral scholars pursuing research projects at the Institute for Advanced Study's School of Historical Studies. Open to all fields of historical research, the School of Historical Studies' principal interests are the history of western, near eastern and Asian civilizations, with particular emphasis upon Greek and Roman civilization, the history of Europe (medieval, early modern, and modern), the Islamic world, East Asian studies, the history of art, the history of science, philosophy, modern international relations, and music studies. Fellowships supported by this grant would be for a full academic year. During the Fellowship -period scholars are required to reside in Princeton where they will be given full access to resources of the Institute for Advanced Study. Their only other obligation is to pursue their own research.
