The Piers Plowman Electronic Archive
Completion of revisions to the B critical text of Piers Plowman with textual annotation and completion of all documentary editions of the A manuscripts accompanied by color facsimiles of the originals.
We propose to continue developing The Piers Plowman Electronic Archive by revising the first draft of our critical edition of the B version and by producing documentary editions of all the A version manuscripts, including the AB, AC, and ABC splices. These will serve as the base for machine collation. We will use the collation after the grant period to create the archetypal edition of the A version. As with the already published and about to be published documentary editions of the B version, we plan to provide hypertextually linked color digital images of entire manuscripts.
