General operating support for state or territorial humanities council

The mission of South Carolina Humanities is to enrich the cultural and intellectual lives of all South Carolinians. SC Humanities presents and/or supports literary initiatives, lectures, exhibits, festivals, publications, oral history projects, videos and other humanities-based experiences that directly or indirectly reach more than 250,000 citizens annually. Some of our programs include: the Grants Program (Major Grants, Mini Grants, Planning Grants, and Fast Track Literary Grants); the Speakers Bureau: Humanities Out Loud program; the Let's Talk About It Reading and Discussion Program; the Museum on Main Street partnership; the annual South Carolina Humanities Festival, and the Governor's Awards in the Humanities.
