Abstract: Craft Front and Center is a permanent exhibition featuring the Museum’s collection that highlights the multiple historical, cultural, and aesthetic contexts for craft in the post-World War II era. This is the first permanent exhibition for the museum. The goals of the exhibition are to anchor the museum visit in a cohesive narrative and introduce audiences to the history of craft as a diverse movement rooted in an egalitarian ethos, providing a picture of craft as a multi-faceted and vital part of American history, culture, and society.
