I Came to Testify tells how sixteen women who had been imprisoned by Serb-led forces in the Bosnian town of Foca broke history’s great silence and took the witness stand in an international court of law. Their courage resulted in a triumphant verdict that led to new international laws about sexual violence in war. Narrated by Matt Damon, the film is the first hour in the five-part documentary series Women, War & Peace that aired on PBS in 2011.
