Abstract: Dave Marquez discusses his three decades of teaching Chicano Studies in Central High School and at CSU-Pueblo. He discusses what inspired him to join the Chicano Movement in the 60s and continues to be part of it. He discusses his students publishing "La Azteca" newspaper at Central High School. He talks about his most memorable student, Adam Gonzales, and why. He talks about the racism he observed in the school as early as elementary school. He talks about the Brown Berets as the unsung heroes of the Chicano Movement. He also talks about the high drop-out of Chicano students in Pueblo schools.
