Revision of a minor in climate change studies.
The project will connect interested faculty from across the sciences, humanities, and social sciences to work on a plan to increase interdisciplinary collaboration in the teaching of climate change. Our plan is to identify and recruit Humanities faculty from across the University to become Humanities Climate Change Fellows. Working collaboratively with existing members of our Climate Change Working Group, these fellows will be charged with developing innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum for our Climate Change Studies Minor, including discussing the potential for the expansion of the Minor, and assessing strategies for how best to create interdisciplinary, collaborative, service learning projects that integrate the sciences, social sciences and humanities. In a University setting in which there is much talk about interdisciplinary work, our project will provide a model for creating collaborative curriculum and innovative intellectual approaches to understanding human problems.
