Two one-week workshops held at The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home in Nashville, Tennessee, on major themes in early 19th-century American history.

Middle Tennessee State University, in partnership with The Hermitage: Home of Andrew Jackson, will conduct two, one-week workshops, for 50 participants each, on “The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson, and America 1801-1861.” Four days of each workshop will take place at the 1120-acre National Historic Landmark at Nashville, Tennessee. The fifth day will be spent on the MTSU campus where core faculty and master teachers will work with participants to help them develop written plans for individual projects. Visiting scholars include prominent Jacksonian scholars Daniel Feller, author of The Jacksonian Promise: America, 1815-1840 and editor of the Jackson Papers, and Harry Watson, author of Liberty and Power:The Politics of Jacksonian America.
