Endowment to support, at this comprehensive university, public humanities outreach, special programs for school teachers in the humanities, and a director's salary.

The Challenge Grant Project (CGP) will support further development of programs of Center for Public Humanities. This support will serve as a catalyst for public humanities outreach into the regional community as well as for broad-based interdisciplinary collaboration within Messiah College?s School of the Humanities. The Center for Public Humanities serves the wider community of south central Pennsylvania with humanities-based programs in partnership with educational, civic, and cultural organizations. Therefore, the CGP will leverage fundraising for public humanities programs in the wider community.
