A consultant with expertise in classical studies will assess the academic soundness of a proposed minor in the classics, the adequacy of staff and library holdings, the comparable effectiveness of diverse methodologies in the teaching of Latin and Greek, and the most suitable administrative structure for the program. Methods of awakening student interest in classics and of utilizing a classics minor to improve students' literacy levels will be explored.
