University of Nebraska, Kearney (Kearney, NE 68849-0001)
Ron G. Martin (Project Director: November 1974 to October 1990)

To design and implement a unit of study entitled "The Library Search Process." This generalized systematic approach to information retrieval will reach all 1200 freshmen yearly through the required introductory English courses. At the same time, instructors in all other disciplines will be informed any way the process could be used in their classes. Students will meet in the library for sessions throughout the semester, and each students will be asked to research a subject using the learned search process. The program results will be presented to the Midwest Academic Libraries conference and the Mountain Plains Library Association Convention. Results of the program will be published in reputable journals, such as College and Research Libraries.
