The Role of the Humanities in Contemporary and Future America

To design an interdisciplinary curriculum within the broad scope of the humanities which will tie traditional areas of study together and relate them to selected social and cultural problems in urban life. This program is focused on the Black experience as a vehicle of introducing humanistic contributions which will give both students and faculty a fuller understanding of significant social changes in the immediate area of Raleigh and in the nation as a whole.
