Ardis G. Sanders (Project Director: September 1974 to present)

To improve the teaching of humanities in secondary schools by developing courses, teaching methods, and by training teachers. The plan is to create six teaching positions for two years in different school systems for selected expert visiting teachers drawn from the ranks of university and high school teachers. They will collaborate with local teachers in creating, teaching and evaluating model courses of various length and approach. In addition three annual institutes will be conducted by the visiting experts and prominent guests. The institutes will aid in creating humanities teacher training programs and defining certification requirements.
