To explain the numerous and important similarities in thought, expression, and symbolism in Yeats and Jung. A two - fold approach will be adopted: (1) that Yeats and Jung participated in the same philosophic tradition (Platonism and Neoplatonism); (2) that the system toward which both Yeats and Jung moved was determined in its nature by certain basic and timeless, a - historical constituents of the human mind or human psyche.
