To complete an intellectual biography of Sir James G. Frazer (1854- 1941), based mainly upon more than 1500 of Frazer's letters. The approach will be eclectic and multidisciplinary since no other would suffice to deal with Frazer's contribution to classics, anthropology, comparative religion, and literary criticism, nor with his influences in general cultural-historical terms. No scholarly biography of Frazer exists today.
