To produce a critique and reformulation of the conventional wisdom defining the forms of criminal and civil procedure in Anglo-American, Western European, and Socialist legal systems. Consideration will be given to the extent to which changes in socio-economic structures are related to changes in the patterns of administration of justice. Aim of the study is to formulate-both conceptually and empirically-the relationship between criminal procedure and the fundamental concerns of social and political philosophy.
