To analyze the American political structure during the Truman administration in the years following WWII. The study will examine the roles played by the major branches of government, public opinion and pressure groups during this period. It will attempt to show the interaction of these institutions and forces with the major post-war issues and concerns, specifically, the Cold War, the maintenance of economic prosperity, and the extension of domestic reform.
