(Seminar for School Administrators) To study the philosophical treatment of such ideas as freedom, autonomy, rationality, dignity, and respect for persons in Kant's Foundation of the Metaphysics of Morals, and to examine recent analyses of these ideas by English and American moral theorists and philosophers of education. Aim is to clarify terms used in discussion of moral education, and to encourage participants to integrate philosophical understanding of moral aspects of education with their own experience.
