(Interprofessional Seminar) Seminar will focus on relations between America and East Asia which represent contrasting cultural traditions (e.g., Chinese and Japanese perception of man, nature, and society compared with American perceptions of the same). Such comparisons will invite questions about communication and understanding between Americans and Asians (and by implication among all peoples) which are of vital importance in an increasingly interdependent world. Aim is to develop humanistic perspective on contemporary international affairs.
