Myth, Symbolic Modes and Ideology

The seminar will attempt to determine the past and present usefulness of myth as an expressive species of rationality and as a symbolic mode. A survey of myth theories emphasizing the ritual school and other structuralists, will be accompanied by theories of symbology. Each participant will follow a theory to fulfill his special interests.
