The American West: An Interdisciplinary Approach

Emphasis will be placed on 20th century developments: urbanization, strip-mining, reclamation, land management, pollution, water, etc. Participants will do reading of an interdisciplinary nature in the Huntington Library. Half of the participants will be selected from academic backgrounds in Western History, while the remainder will come from related disciplines such as cultural anthropology, political science, historical geography, literature, folklore, or Borderlands.
