An Edition of the French Epic Poem Garin de Monglane

ABSTRACT: Fellow to prepare an edition of the French epic poem Garin de Monglane based on mauscripts in Paris, Rome, London and fragments at Princeton and in Trier, Germany. Garin de Monglane serves as a protagonist of one of the three major epic cycles in medieval French poetry (the other cycles center on Charlemagne and Doon de Mayence), yet this major work in the cycle is only available in manuscripts. Fellow prepared critical edition of the fragment at Princeton for his dissertation.
