FAIN: FT-12372-75

To do research on the narrative art of Chretien de Troyes, who is perhaps the most important French writer of the Middle Ages. To study his artistry--the way he constructs his romances, the nature and psychology of his characters and the literary universe he creates. Chretien de Troyes had enormous influence not only on later French writers, but on medieval poets of other countries.
