To study, during almost twenty years of research on Benjamin Franklin as Philadelphia printer-publisher. Study will involve critical methods and the insights of scholarship of the literature, history, analytical biography, and journalism of later eighteenth century America. Study will throw new light on the political maneuvering at a very crucial time in an important colonial city which, after London, was at this point in time the most densely populated in the British Empire.
