To examine medicine and medical education during the early Middles Ages 5th to 10th centuries. P.I. will examine approximately 200 manuscripts through a codicological method. Codicology is the study of a manuscript's history and physical aspects. This method can provide new insight into the use of the manuscripts and, thus, early medical education.
