FAIN: FT-13442-77

Timothy G. Binkley
University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, IN 46556-4635)

To begin a book which undertakes a thorough and systematic study of the limits of aesthetics and attempts to develop an alternative approach to the philosophy of art. PI believes that the 20th century has rejected the idea that art must be "aesthetic", i.e. that it must create some kind of perceptual phenomenon; and idea which has far-reaching implications for any understanding of culture in general.
