New Testament Synonyms

This study of the New Testament will be performed in two stages: 1) a "manual edition" informed by the current state of N.T. lexicography in a form accessible to students and general readers who do not necessarily read Greek; and, 2) this manual edition would serve as a basis for a larger, collaborative work that would essay to advance and further enhance the discipline. Current works in N.T. studies (German as well as English) cite as the standard work in N.T. synonymy R.C. Trench, Synonyms of the New Testament (1854; ninth edition, 1880). This work will bring studies of the N.T. up to date and also remedy the situation due to Trench's work quoting extensively in Latin and Greek which many people do not understand.
