To study Ethiopia, a "Living Newspaper" drama concerning the Italian invasion of Ethiopia in 1934. After one "dress rehearsal" performance, this “Living Newspaper" was cancelled by the Federal Government. This study will ask why and how it was written, why it was cancelled, what impact its cancellation had on the artistic freedom of the Federal Theatre Project, and what influence it had on the "Living Newspapers" that followed it.
