FAIN: GZ-10011-78

East Bay Center for the Performing Arts (Richmond, CA 94804)
Richard A. Letts (Project Director: November 1978 to present)

Six films will be made by 40 youth, ages 12-19, from 6 neighborhoods: 4 ethnic poverty, 1 lower-middle income ethnically mixed, one middle-income white. Participants will investigate their own family history, then members of each group will choose a theme for more in-depth investigation and filming. Themes will include an investigation of immigrant streams from various areas, and the values and beliefs brought and still held by local families. Participants will be responsible for all stages of writing, research and production, except film-processing.
