FAIN: PA-51615-06

Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital (Denver, CO 80218-1126)
Margaret M. Bandy (Project Director: May 2005 to February 2008)

A general preservation assessment of records related to the institutional history of a private hospital established in Denver by the Sisters of Charity in 1873.

This project will assess the need for strengthening and preserving the historical and cultural archival materials of Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital. It will also initiate development of policies for accessioning materials and for making the collection more accessible to researchers. Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital was founded in 1873 as the first private hospital in Denver, Colorado. The Hospital has had a significant role in the history of Denver. The proposed assessment will be the first step in assuring the future preservation of a unique set of records.
